General

Q: How many computers can I install DivxManager on?

 A: The license of DivxManager is valid only for one PC and one Person. Be sure not to share your Codes for the registered user's area, or your account will be definitely deleted!


Q: How much does it cost Upgrade DivxManager?

 A: When you buy DivxManager, you will receive unlimited upgrades for free!
Q: When I launch DivxManager, it freeze always at the beginning and write "Loading Languages"

 A: If you have this problem probably you have not correctly installed DivxManager : when the Install program ask to you to "Keep the existing file", the first time answer YES, but if the problem persist, install it again and answer NO, so DivxManager will have all files needed


 Q: What are the evaluation restrictions? I need to download other software to make it fully functional?

 A: There is no time restriction but you can insert only 50 Movies in the Database. All the others function are full-working. When you buy DivxManager you will not more download shareware releases but directly the registered inside the REGISTERED USER'S AREA at official web page.


 Q: What can I do for become a REGISTERED USER WITHOUT PAY ?

 A: Simply make a SCRIPT for a web site not supported. If you do it , you will became a Registered User and you will have unlimited upgrades. BE SURE THAT THE WEB SITE HAVEN'T ALREADY A SCRIPT or ISN'T UNDER CONSTRUCTION, or you will not receive the registration! If you don't know a web site, there is a list of WANTED SCRIPTS in the Official Web Page (the red are under construction already by another user)
Q: I want export only DVD Movies, how can I do without became crazy ?

 A: Export only some types of movies is really Easy : what you have to do is to show in the main window only the movie you want (in this case, filter by DVD ) and open the Export Window : you will see that only DVD movies are shown, and now you can right-click and select all. This works for every type of movies and every filter you apply... You can do the same also for Import information from internet...


 Q: I want PRINT my list of Movies, but I cannot find a way for do it.

 A: With Divxmanager you cannot print DIRECTLY your movie database, you must First EXPORT it in your preferred type. After Export, you can print your list with appropriate software. FOr example, if you want print a simple list of your movies, you can CREATE a TXT file, EDIT with a text editor and print it, OR you can export your movie list to EXCEL, and after print it with excel. We have make this choice because the print functions of these programs (txt editors, excel, word ecc...) are much powerful than we can do with DivxManager.


 



Scripts / Internet Import

Q: When I import information from "MOVIE-MISTAKES", it delete the previous Comments taken from IMDB ,how can I do for add the "Mistakes" without delete the first text?

 A: When you want hold the information imported with a script, and you want add the new one taken from another web site, you must select in the ENGINE CONFIGURATION the options "When import plot, user comments etc...add it without delete the first text".


 Q: I want download a file for a movie (for example Subtitles), What Instruction can I use with Script?

 A: The new engine from release 1.0 have an instruction #TAKEFILE#=#?1#=#?2# where you can specify in the #?1# variable the URL of the file and in the #?2# the name of the file. The Engine will put this file in the "Download" subdirectory of DivxManager. note that the filename will be : Movie_Title - #?2#


 Q: Why some script gives me always "Script Errors" and others not ?

 A: You must distinguish from Script that gives always errors and Script that gives only errors in particular movies. If a script return always wrong information and errors, probably the site where it takes information has changed the HTML-Structure and the Script is OBSOLETE, this means that you can delete it because will not import more information. If a script sometimes gives erros, probably have a low quality, but you can continue to use it. Is important that you check periodically the official web page for download always the latest Scripts.

 Q: I get this error when I try to import information :ERROR 372 Failed tol load control Winsock from MSWinsck.ocx. Your version of MSWinsck.ocx may be outdated

 A: Probably you haven't install the RUNTIMES. If is the first time you are unsing DivxManager, especially the 1.0, you must download the FULL version with RUNTIMES. Another way to solve this problem is by select the OLD Engine for download informatio : go in the configuration window -> internet options -> select the Engine n° 1

Q: A Script didn't work anymore, it didn't find movies and/or it gives always ERRORS

 A: Web Sites sometims changes the HTML-Structure and/or the way to query their database : if a script didn't work anymore and you can't find a new release of it, please REPORT IT and we will try to fix as soon as possible...


 Q: I have a big database, and is hard every time I add a new movie search it for import information...there is a way for better select it?

A: You have many possibilities for select a particular group of movies : if you need to select all movies NEVER IMPORTED, you must simply go under the movie's list in the main window and filter by : STATUS -> NEVER WEB IMPORTED, and you will have the list of all movies not imported. now press the WWW button and you will have only movies never imported -> right-click and select ALL...
You can also filtering by Movies TODAY-EDITED, TODAY-INSERTED etc...
Q: I want import information from a web site about a movie that script didn't find , but if I search it manually I find it on this web : what can I do?

 A: The procedure is not immediate, but can be done. First or all, COPY the URL of the movie you found in the "WEB LINK" field. Now open the Import from web Window and go in the ENGINE CONFIGURATION -> select the UPDATE MODE 2 : with this , the engine will use the web link that you have found and the Script that you will select for import information. Be sure that the WEB LINK and the SCRIPT are compatible!! This means that if you have find the movie on IMDB, you must use an IMDB Script for import information...
 

Q: I want use the UPDATE MODE 3 Function, but when I try to launch, DivxManager tells me that cannot found the movie

 A: The problem is related to Script, and not in DivxManager : the update mode 1 & 2 works in every scripts, but the UPDATE MODE 3 Require a 2° generation Script AND require that this script suppport this method.All LATEST script of IMDB support it, for the other, you must check if , inside the script, there is the instruction #WEBQUERYID#


 



Bugs / Problems

Q: The HTML-DATABASE didn't work properly, if I click on the cover to open it, I get an error

 A: This problem comes if you have an old version of Internet Explorer. ome users have fix this problem by UPDATING it. Please refer to this web page : http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q321915


Q: Every time I launch DivxManager, I get a window with only (1) that says that cannot find the file "CONFIG.CFG" , and I must open the TaskManager for close all

 A: This problem comes out for two reason : 1) if you have not correclty installed DivxManager (for example if you have downloaded only the EXE)   2) If your DATABASE RUNTIMES aren't updates
Solutions :
1) In this case, download the FULL SHAREWARE and install it on your Computer

2) In this case, Download the DATABASE RUNTIMES and install it : when the setup ask to you to "KEEP THE EXISTING FILES", press "NO" because you need to Install the new one.


Q: The HTML-DATABASE didn't show me any information! what's happen!

A: When you Build a new HTML-Database, be sure to have selected ALL fields, or your HTML-DB will not work properly!!

Q: I have in my Database very much movies, but Divxmanager show me only few : what can I do?

 A: This problem comes out if the conversion of the OLD database not worked at 100%, in this case : 1) open the Database Manager (menu Database/database manager...), Select the database with this problems and press the "REBUILD" Button : DivxManager will rebuild the Database and all movies will be showed correctly (Only available in the Registered Version)


 Q: In my PC all Divxmanager windows have the same size, and I cannot work with it : I have a MATROX Video card

 A: This problem is easy to solve : the MATROX VideoCard let users set very much preferences, and one of it must be disabled or Divxmanager will not work correctly : please download this file to see what you must do (thanks to BlackBox for the Help!)
